For decades, cannoli have been a treasured dessert we made for our family and friends. We pride ourselves in conserving the original quality and taste of a recipe which has been passed down for generations, it is truly a tradition you can taste. We are glad to serve you in any way that we can. Our handmade shells are made to order and can include any of our favorite offered toppings. Where it begins…
Our story begins in a little village in Vita, in the providence of Trapani, Sicily. In 1923 Mary Scalisi was born. Her family of 7 live in a small two room home with a wood stove, rolled up carpets for flooring, and a community water fountain that provides water for the community.
As a young girl she loved going to church every day, enjoyes singing in a choir with nuns, and is devoted to serving her family. She did well in school but by the 5th grade was expected to work and help support her family. A local restaurant owner takes a liking to Mary and gives her a job as a housekeeper cleaning her home. The woman teaches Mary how to make traditional Sicilian pasta, meat dishes, soups and desserts including Cannoli.
Making a good cannoli shell is a craft, growing up I watched and helped my mother make, fill and serve these cannoli’s for family weddings, and just about every special family occasion. Each handmade shell taking on it’s own unique characteristic, no two are alike.
Now it’s our turn to share our families delicious, fresh, made to order cannoli so that you can experience true Sicilian tradition and for some reason you’re not totally in love with our cannoli we’ll gladly make it right.
